3:00-3:30 – Gather in a circle to introduce ourselves 3:30-4:30 – Break into informal gatherings for conversation on various topics of interest. Youth program on Race Unity led by two high school students, Sheyda Mottahed & Lena Sayfee.

Special Community Briefing: International Tracing Service Archive
The International Tracing Service in Bad Arolsen, Germany, was the world’s largest closed Holocaust archive. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum led a multiyear effort to open it that finally succeeded in November 2007. The Museum is beginning to receive copies of documentation, which contains 100 million digital images, including the names of 17.5 million victims of Nazism, both Jews and non-Jews. The museum is now able to respond to inquiries from survivors and their families who have sought this information for decades.

What happened to Germans and Jews during the Nazi era? http://frontrow.bc.edu/program/heinz/  Fr. Hanspeter Heinz, professor emeritus of pastoral theology at the University of Augsburg, is president of the Jewish-Christian Discussion Group, which sponsors programs and discussions in Germany over the difficulties experienced by both Jews and Germans in confronting the historical facts of the Holocaust. Along with Rabbi Michael Signer, he is editor of Coming Together for the Sake of God: Contributions to Jewish-Christian Dialogue from Post-Holocaust Germany (Michael Glazier Books, 2007). In his talk, sponsored by the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning, he stresses the continuing importance of studying the “specifics of what happened” to Germans and Jews during the Nazi era.
